Welcome to the Southeast Wisconsin Chapter

Letter from the President

Dear Wisconsinites,

It’s with great pleasure to be your President of the Health & Wellness Network of Commerce – Southeast Wisconsin Chapter (HWNCC-SEWI).

We’re a valuable group of entrepreneurs and small businesses representing a variety of areas in business. HWNCC-SEWI functions as a business-to-business networking organization and support system.

We meet the 2nd & 4th Tuesday every month from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

December is the only month where we’ll not meet on the 4th Tuesday. In December, our Holiday party will be on the 2nd Tuesday and will resume with two monthly meetings in January.

The 2nd Tuesday meeting agenda is all about networking, building deep relationships, forming collaborations, and creating a referral base.

The 4th Tuesday meeting agenda revolves around education on creating and building a sustainable business which everyone will benefit from.

Welcome to the HWNCC Brevard County, FL Chapter

Dear New Members and Friends,

It is my great honor to begin my term as the President of the Health and Wellness Network of Commerce Corporation – Brevard County, FL Chapter (HWNCC-BC), a business-to-business networking organization dedicated to the health and wellness of the business members and residents of the Brevard County community.

My extensive healthcare career includes time as a direct care service provider as a consultant speech pathologist serving the geriatric population, a mentor providing skill development to organizations through 1 on 1 consultations, a corporate trainer developing workshops and trainings for a healthcare system, and finally a public speaker on topical healthcare issues and communication.

I undertook this new venture desiring to develop, support, and lead a new organization dedicated to ongoing improvement of the general health, wellness and businesses of Florida residents.

Here, in our meetings, we can support, guide, and offer needed resources to fellow entrepreneurs and small wellness focused and other businesses in our county, and along with other Chapters, participate in joint activities across the globe.

The Brevard County, FL Chapter of the HWNCC represents an esteemed group of like-minded entrepreneurs and small business owners within the Brevard County area. HWNCC-BC members feel a special calling to improve the communication and relationships in a business-to-business forum. We are also committed to assisting and supporting one another in our individual journeys to success. This group represents networking with a focus where our members should feel supported in our aligned mission, vision, and values. I hope you will join us.

Welcome to the Northeast Ohio Chapter

Hello!

My name is Kathy Lentner and I am President of the HWNCC Northeast Ohio Chapter and a small business owner.

I am an experienced leadership and personal development coach, speaker, facilitator and branding consultant. With over 20 years of experience partnering with global and regional brands to develop their people, their leaders, their strategic direction and their brands; and through my work with individuals to help them make positive choices for purposeful change, I am driven to create a workforce of happier and healthier employees.

As the President of HWNCC Northeast Ohio I get the opportunity to be on the front lines to bridge the, sometimes giant, gap between those who deliver wellness expertise and those who sometimes need it most, our businesses and their people. As a business-to-business networking organization, our mission is to provide a platform for health and wellness professionals, practitioners, service and product providers to network with corporate professionals while providing a sustainable support system for both.

It is a very exciting time to be in a leadership role with HWNCC. Ideas imagined years ago have gained momentum and there has been growth in every area of the organization – educational programs, staff and, most importantly, the benefits to members. With over 40 chapters, in 10 states and in 6 countries in only 3 years, we know that our members see the value in coming together to share and grow and to ultimately benefit our communities.

As President for our region, my goal is to add value to the ground swell of information around health and wellness and to provide our members with meaningful knowledge and contacts that can truly make a positive impact in our Northeast Ohio community.

HWNCC Northeast Ohio is poised to grow and expand in numbers and in impact. We hope that you will join us.

Welcome to the Orange County, FL Chapter

Dear Friends,

I am truly honored by the opportunity to work alongside our Founder, as President of the Orange County Chapter of the HWNCC. I am eager to get to know as many of you as possible in the Health, Wellness and corporate field, along with your interests and concerns. My background and career experience includes over 30 years of administrative roles in New York, New Jersey and Florida for small family owned businesses as well as large companies in a variety of industries ranging from pharmaceutical to entertainment to construction.

Life has taken me in unexpected and different directions in the last four years. Now as a full time caregiver, entrepreneur, and founder of a non-profit, I move between 3 completely diverse worlds daily.  This new path has given me a unique perspective of what our HWNCC Founder is working to achieve; different sectors complimenting each other in a way that will benefit each other.

In Orange County Florida we are home to one of only two medical cities that currently exist in the world, including a state of the art VA medical center; we are home to over 30 corporate/division headquarters, a National Entrepreneurship Center, Business Incubator Centers and much more. We are looking forward to great collaborations and friendships within the communities in our county.

This will be the page to come back and visit as we grow and list our upcoming meetings and events.

Over 40 chapters in 10 states and 6 countries in 3 years. HWNCC’s explosive growth is evidence that there is a great need for the collaboration we are working to achieve outside of the traditional boundaries of health and wellness and corporate.

HWNCC-OC will support, promote and encourage entrepreneurs, non-profits, corporate businesses small and large though education, networking, exploration of current challenges and definitive action towards new and innovative ways to improve wellness while increasing economic growth.

I believe John Maxwell says best what I want to convey for all myself and all incoming members: “I want to make a difference with people who want to make a difference, doing something that makes a difference.”  Our goal is to work with every member to achieve optimum health and income in your businesses and professions.

As President, my goal is to create an environment within HWNCC-OC where we can build a strong and energetic movement towards economically successful health activated individuals, families, businesses and communities. I am so excited to see what the future holds!

Interview with Orly Amor

When it comes to merging the corporate lifestyle with personal and professional success, there are few people as versed in knowledge and technique as Orly Amor. Orly not only guides and facilitates professionals to reach their goals, she offers her skill as a master networker, public speaker and mentor. Orly’s latest endeavor, the Health and Wellness Network of Commerce (HWNCC.com) is a unique platform for health and wellness professionals to network with corporate professionals to achieve growth while creating a sustainable support system. During a quick Q&A session, Orly lets us know why this latest endeavor is so important.

Q: Why focus on pairing health professionals with corporate professionals?

A: Most companies are looking to implement health programs into their workplace because they can save a ton of money on their insurance premiums, not to mention create an environment of productive, happy employees who experience less absenteeism with preventative programs to minimize exorbitant hospital and doctor costs. Giving health and wellness professionals a way to connect with corporate professionals gives both parties what they need most and forms a symbiotic business relationship to benefit everyone.

Q: Don’t health professionals simply advertise and find their way into helping business with their programs?

A: While many Health pretensioners can make their way into corporations and show their worth in terms of dollars and sense, this is a challenging task and most wellness practitioners meet with far more failure than success. On the flip side, corporations are faced with skyrocketing health costs and don’t know where to look or how to implement business-wide health plans to cut costs and aid their employees.

Q: Why is getting into corporate, as a health professional, so difficult?

A: If you are a solo practitioner or an organization specializing in wellness programs for the corporate level it isn’t enough to have the superior product or service. It is crucial to know when to approach, how to approach and what monetary contribution to ask for.

The other challenge is that everyone who is looking to get into corporate is doing the wrong thing by reaching out to the HR department and speaking to whomever will speak to them. The wasted time of the individual will just steer them away from hiring you because they are not the decision makers, they are the information vehicle in the company.

This is why HWNCC is so vital to health practitioners and business owners. Corporate needs help to protect their investment in their employees by providing health plans to offset the cost of insurance premiums and protect their employees’ health. Wellness providers need a way to offer their services in an environment that is conducive to success.

Q: What is the best approach to successfully get into a corporate environment?

A: When looking for a company to approach, get as much information about them as possible so that you can contact the right person at the right times with the right mindset and attitude to get you through the door. First and foremost, you need to pass the Gate Keeper, and that is another strategy for another time.

Your Mindset is your Biggest Asset!

You may have heard of how your Attitude helps your Altitude when it comes to business. Yet, when faced with rejection or failure we beat ourselves up. Business is a bumpy road filled with highs as well as misses. When facing a challenging time, it is important to keep a good attitude and strengthen your mindset so that you don’t fall into the trap of desperation. Here are the three things to keep in mind.

business mindset

The way you do one thing is the way you do everything.

You may not know this but wherever you go and whatever you do someone is always watching. When you miss appointments, are late for an assignment or give your word but fail to deliver, someone is noticing. Take a reality pulse or a responsibility gage of who you appear to be. Is that someone you would do business with? Are you from a place of selling or a place of servitude? Be the latter and your business will flourish from the simple law of reciprocity.

Approaching your personal life as a business will help you keep balance.

How do you plan your day? Do you write things down? Do you put out fires constantly and have no time to plan? Writing things down helps you be organized, takes away the responsibility of memory and helps you prioritize. Your personal life and your business life need to be one, so keep one list. Referencing your list, adding to it, and crossing things off gives a sense of accomplishment which in turn gives you the feeling of balance and productivity. It also helps clear your mind for creativity and planning to bring about solutions and business growth.

Why “No” means “Not right now.”

Often when we have a potential client we get very excited, and rightfully so. But, if the deal is not signed and an exchange of money is not done then it’s still a potential client. So, what is the excitement about? In business, we need to be a little more rational than emotional. We get so depleted by the answer No that we fail to see the bright side and the opportunity to educate ourselves. The one question to ask a potential client is “why?” You can get a multitude of answers and many times it’s because it’s just “not right now.”

We see this as the last answer, stop touching base, following up occasionally and building a relationship that can be so much more than the immediate gratifications that we so desperately need. When faced with, “No,” work to build a relationship that can eventually turn into a referral partnership. Ask for support when appropriate, show up from a place of servitude and you will get more YES than you can possibly handle. So, it’s Not, “Not right now,” it’s really a, “Yes, but later.”

The way you approach any situation in business or personal life will determine your level of success. Changing your attitude to accept setbacks as learning opportunities will turn your struggles into successes as you work to build up yourself and your business.
